Strategies For Stress

Tools and Strategies For Dealing With Stress:

1. Breathing Technique

Stand straight and tall.  Bring awareness to bottoms of feet and move that awareness up the body as you inhale deeply, filling your lungs and rising as tall as you possibly can.  Exhale down and feel the tension in your neck and shoulders release downward.  Let the tension simply fall away.

2. Heat Therapy

With a heat therapy neck pillow, place the heated roll on your neck and let the heat weight work on releasing tight muscles.  It is amazing how much taller you will walk and how much more relaxed you will feel once your neck and spine are released.

3. Range of Motion

Revolve the neck loosely and slowly clockwise in a slow motion about 3-4 times and then counterclockwise another 3-4 times to relax you neck.  Next raise your shoulders toward your ears and then relax them down losening the tightness that you carry.  Repeat this several times and exhale as you release.  Then do 3-4 forward shoulder rolls and then 3-4 backward shoulder rolls.

4. Aromatherapy

Light an insence in your home.  Massage essential oils on your tension areas.  Relax your jaw and breathe.
